Comments: I have just arrived home from a long weekend away with two other families. We have had this trip planned since May (approx 4 mths) and have been looking forward to it - especially based on the fact that we had done a lot of work in researching where we would stay. We booked three powered sites for 3 nights and were specific about the sites we booked based on having 6 children 5 and under between us. When myself and another family arrived on the Friday afternoon we were greeted with a less than friendly reception and told in no uncertain terms that we must be wrong about the sites we had booked as "they are never booked in that configuration". We gave up trying to convince this lady, accepted the sites that she was willing to give us and headed on down to set-up. As we were checking out our site in conjunction with the park map, the male manager came and asked us "are you guys right?" we said yes and after careful consideration about how we would configure our site we put our tents up.We started setting up our other equipment such as shelters, BBQ's etc. and it was about this time that the same park manager visited us again and approached us in an extremely aggressive manner stating that we were set-up on the wrong sites and made statements such as "you can't just set-up anywhere you like" and "I asked if you were ok and you told me yes". We were confused as we had been very thoughtful in where we were placing our tents and he told us our tents were actually set-up on unpowered sites next to ours. There was absolutely no mention of these sites on the map nor was there any signage or markings on the sites themselves and on explaining this to him he stated "well, we can't mark out every site!" and something to the effect of "no site would ever be that big!" When we asked him to clarify where the borders of the site were, he was very vague and just walked to a point where he put his arms out and said "about here" We were even more confused as it did not line up with any taps or powerpoints or posts as is common in many caravan parks. He did not listen to what we were saying and his verbal and body language became increasingly aggressive. He also just kept stating "well I asked if you were OK!" - a very vague question which really did nothing to clarify the situation. We tried to plead our case or at least have him understand where our misunderstanding had come from but his comments implied to us that he thought we had done this deliberately. He kept insisting that we must move our tents immediately. By this time, it was getting quite late in the evening and it was also very cold and raining on and off. As we had several small children now getting very tired and hungry, we pleaded to stay on these sites for the night if they were vacant and offered to move them in the morning. We also made other suggestions which would essentially meet him halfway. The conversation still went around in circles for a few more minutes and became quite heated until the point that he basically just stormed off and never returned to clarify whether they were booked out or not. The next day when the third family in our party arrived and I joined them at the office to book in I made a point of checking whether we would need to move our tents as the man had been so specific about the need for us to do it. The lady in the office said that they generally only use these sites in summer so , no we didn't need to move! This experience really was very stressful and upsetting for us and no apology was made during our stay. I am definitely never going back but one of the other families who were more forgiving than me asked on check-out about availability over Xmas and New Year. They were told "I really don't know" and were basically dismissed. Overall a very bizarre experience for people who are running a business based on recommendations and return visits. Extremely disappointing and quite upsetting. NOT RECOMMENDED!
