Positives: Location; staff
Negatives: Management; Communication; Amenities
Visited Kenilworth Homestead on 26 April 2012 and confirmed that we would be able to camp on site from Wednesday 16 May to Sunday 20 May. Attempted to phone on Friday 11 May to confirm booking, left a phone message, I received no reply from the management. Arrived onsite only to be told that we could not stay as a school camp was booked into the site. Rod the manager made it very clear that he did not care what we had been told previously, did not care that I had attempted to contact them by phone the previous Friday, he firmly stated that his priority was school camps, and campers were just a side income.
We camped elsewhere for a couple of days and then moved camp on the Friday after the school left.
What can you say, we have camped extensively throughout Australia and USA and never have I seen such disgusting amenities, the toilets and showers are putrid, the toilets leak out onto the cement floors and then ooze out though cracks in the wall to the outside, where slime is growing. The floor of the toilets are cement and there is extensive grim on the floor and walls.
The so called laundry has water leaking all over the cement and then onto the grass, resulting in a boggy mess on the grass, I think the clothes would be dirtier then when you started.
Walking around the property we did see toilet paper littering in the long grass.
The location is just stunning, what a same that management do not have a sense of pride and commitment both in the level of customer service and maintenance of facilities. We felt a strong sense that the management did not want to interact with members of the public, their customers.

We spent Easter at the river-side family retreat in the heart of the Mary Valley and we want to go again!
Great camping grounds for tent / caravans. Good camping shower and toilet amenities. Kid friendly! Dogs welcome!!
The Mary River runs through the 22,000 acre property: bring your blow-up boats, canoes and rubber mats for the water-slide! There is a designated motorbike paddock and good dirt roads for kids to get around on push-bikes.
The land is beautiful, the staff are friendly and there is plenty to do, plus no need to book for regular camping – makes for an affordable, fun and relaxing weekend!
Superb camping grounds for tent/caravans. Luxury spa rooms. School camps, Community and Church groups welcome. Nostalgic Accommodation in Heritage buildings. Family cottage. Peaceful function rooms Wedding venue. Shower and toilet amenities. Dogs welcome.
